539 Fisgard Street

539 Fisgard Street is a 2-storey mixed-use commercial building with ground level retail, residential and artist studio-maker space.  It sits on a prominent location in the heart of Chinatown on Fisgard Street and at the entrance of Fan Tan Alley.

Comprised of three separate buildings built over time, the first building was constructed in 1888 and the last building constructed in 1912.

Since its creation in the late 1800s, Fan Tan Alley has been an important part of the neighbourhood’s character for both residents and visitors.

Along with Salient’s 3 Fan Tan Alley property, these designated heritage properties comprise the southeast and northwest quarters of Fan Tan Alley, representing half of this important historic thoroughfare. Salient’s ongoing work is to help preserve the historic character of Chinatown while encouraging its genuine and respectful revitalization.
